Electric Guitar Pack
Buying an electric guitar pack is an excellent way to get started with the
guitar. These packs ensure you have all the components necessary to start learning straight away. They allow
you to avoid painfully and incrementally realizing you need yet one more thing that’s essential to playing the
guitar – for example, a tuner, a strap, a gig bag a cord, etc. And, of course, by buying the components
together from a single manufacturer, you are able to save some money.
The one thing you need to be careful of when buying an electric guitar pack is that you get a
good guitar – and amp, to a lesser extent. The package does not have to be expensive (by guitar standards). But you
must take care because there are many electric guitar packs out there with low-quality guitars. The benefits of
buying an electric guitar pack can be completely negated if you buy one with a low-quality guitar. For these
reasons, I've constructed this page to recommend a electronic guitar pack that is reasonably priced, yet includes a
high quality guitar.

But first, let me share some of my experience in the hopes that you can avoid doing what I did…
Many years ago, when I first became interested in the guitar, I quickly decided I wanted to buy an electric guitar.
I had no real musical experience to speak of. Neither did anyone I knew at the time. So, I did what I thought was
the best thing. I went down to our local music store. The store was a small little shop about two miles from my
house. They had a few guitars hanging up. Money was tight, as it always is, and so I bought the least expensive
guitar they had.
I now know that what I bought was a no-name Fender Stratocaster look-alike. The guitar played
terribly, it sounded bad, and it never stayed in tune. It was an absolute piece of junk. To this day, I can’t think
of that guitar without regretting that purchase.
There is a significant point here. In my opinion, the guitar is the best musical instrument
there is. However, learning to play the guitar has the potential to be a frustrating experience. As with all
musical instruments, there is much to learn and it requires considerable time and effort. A good guitar will make
the guitar-learning experience less frustrating and more enjoyable. A bad guitar will make it even more
frustrating, increasing the liklihood that you'll give up on the instrument before reaching your potential.
The electric guitar pack I recommend is the Ibanez IJX121 Jumpstart Electric Guitar Package. The
IJX121 guitar is a relatively inexpensive, yet good quality guitar. It has a good tone and Ibanez guitars are
especially known for their playability, which will make learning that much easier. Several guitarists' guitarists
play Ibanez including: Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and Paul Gilbert. In fact, the package even comes with a Paul
Gilbert instructional DVD. I own other Paul Gilbert instructional DVDs. He has some of the most amazing technique
on the planet. And he’s an excellent teacher to boot. Spend 20 minutes listening to him explain things and you'll
see what I mean.
